These terms and conditions “Terms”
- These terms govern your use of the Make UK Community.
- Please read them carefully as they affect your rights and liabilities under the law. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Make UK Community. If you have any queries please contact us by email

Make UK Community ownership
- The Make UK Community is owned and operated by MAKE UK (EEF) Limited, a company limited by guarantee registered in England and Wales, registered no. 05950172..
Use of the Make UK Community
- The Make UK Community is provided to you for your personal use subject to these Terms. By using the Make UK Community you agree to be bound by these Terms.
- We may update these Terms from time to time. Prior to them being made any changes will be notified to you by email or via a suitable announcement on the Make UK Community.
- If you continue to use the Make UK Community after the date on which the change comes into effect, your use of the Make UK Community indicates your agreement to be bound by the new Terms.
Posting content on the Make UK Community
- Any content you post to the Make UK Community must be in compliance with our Acceptable use policy.
- Where a user posts content which we deem in contravention of the Terms and/or the Acceptable use policy, we may disable that user’s username or password in order to prevent them from posting further content on the Make UK Community.
- The purpose of the Make UK Community is to share information widely amongst those with an interest in helping UK manufacturing to grow and thrive. In pursuit of that aim Make UK (EEF) reserves the right to use, reproduce, publish and distribute content which you or any other user posts on the Make UK Community.
Our liability
- The Make UK Community provides a platform via which users can post and read information which we hope is useful to users.
- We are not responsible for the content of posts left on the Make UK Community and we make no warranty that the Make UK Community or any content on the Make UK Community will be accurate, reliable, up to date or error free. We have no duty to monitor or edit any content posted by users on the Make UK Community. However we reserve the right to remove or edit, without any notice and for any reason, any content that is uploaded by users to the Make UK Community. We are not liable for any defamation, libel, slander or falsehoods that may appear on the Make UK Community.
- We are not liable for any loss or damage, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, even if foreseeable, arising under or in connection with the Make UK Community, but not limited to: loss of profits, business opportunity, goodwill, reputation, loss of data, corruption of data, loss of contracts, or any consequential or indirect loss or damage whatsoever. However, nothing in these Terms shall limit or exclude our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or the negligence of our employees, agents or subcontractors.
- The content on the Make UK Community is not intended to be advice that should be relied upon and is provided for general information only. Make UK (EEF) has no responsibility for the consequences of actions you take, or refrain from taking, on the basis of the content on the Make UK Community.
- We are not liable for any links to third party material found in users’ content, including the content of the page which the link directs you to. If any content contains links to other sites provided by third parties, these links are for your information only and should not be interpreted as approval by us of those linked or information you may obtain from them.
Intellectual property
- The content of the Make UK Community is protected by copyright, trade marks, database rights and other intellectual property rights. Please feel free to share the content with others in your organisation, but you may not otherwise reproduce, modify, copy or distribute or use for commercial purposes any of the materials or content on the Make UK Community without our written permission.
Availability of the Make UK Community
- Although we aim to offer you the best service possible, we cannot guarantee that the services will be fault-free. If a fault occurs with the Make UK Community please report it to us and we will attempt to correct the fault as soon as we reasonably can.
- Your access to the Make UK Community may be restricted occasionally to allow for repairs, maintenance or the introduction of new facilities or services. We will attempt to restore the service as soon as we reasonably can.
Your account and password
- When you register to use our Make UK Community, you will need to develop a username and/or password and/or other piece of information as part of our security procedures. Please this information as confidential and not disclose it to anyone else.
- Where, in our reasonable opinion, a user has failed to comply with any of the provisions of these Terms, we may disable any username or password.
Viruses, hacking and other offences
- You must not misuse our Make UK Community by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material which is malicious or technologically harmful. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to our Make UK Community, the server on which our Make UK Community is stored or any server, computer or database connected to our Make UK Community. You must not attack our Make UK Community via a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of service attack.
- By breaching this provision, you would commit a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. We will report any such breach to the relevant law enforcement authorities and we will co-operate with those authorities by disclosing your identity to them. In the event of such a breach, your right to use our Make UK Community will cease immediately.
- We will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by a distributed denial-of-service attack, viruses or other technologically harmful material that may infect your computer equipment, computer programs, data or other proprietary material due to your use of our Make UK Community or to your downloading of any material posted on it, or on any Make UK Community linked to it.
Third Party
- As a convenience to you, the Make UK Community includes links to material which are beyond our control. We are not responsible for content on any Make UK Community outside our control.
Advertising and Sponsorship
- Part of the Make UK Community may contain advertising and sponsorship. Advertisers and sponsors are responsible for ensuring that material submitted for inclusion on the Make UK Community complies with relevant laws and codes. We will not be responsible to you for any error or inaccuracy in advertising and sponsorship material.
International Use
- We make no promise that materials on the Make UK Community are appropriate or available for use in locations outside the United Kingdom. If you choose to access the Make UK Community from locations outside the United Kingdom, you do so at your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws.
- It is your responsibility to comply with all foreign and local laws and regulations which apply to your use of our Make UK Community in whatever country you are physically located, including without limitation, consumer law, export control laws and regulations.
Miscellaneous
- If you feel that any materials appearing on our Make UK Community are offensive, objectionable or potentially defamatory please highlight this by clicking on the report content icon which appears at the bottom left hand corner of each post. This icon appears as an exclamation mark within a triangle. Alternatively please contact us by way of our help page providing full details of the nature of your complaint and the materials to which the complaint relates.
- You may not transfer any of your rights under these Terms to any other person. We may transfer our rights under these Terms to another business where we reasonably believe your rights will not be affected.
- If you breach these Terms and we choose to ignore this, we will still be entitled to use our rights and remedies at a later date or in any other situation where you breach the Terms and Conditions.
- We shall not be responsible for any breach of these Terms caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Applicable Law
- These Terms will be subject to the laws of England and Wales. We will try to solve any disagreements quickly and efficiently. If you are not happy with the way we deal with any disagreement and you want to take court proceedings, you must do so within the United Kingdom.
